The role of Fáilte Ireland’s Meet in Ireland team is to grow the number of international conferences, corporate meetings, and incentive travel groups to Ireland. The Meet in Ireland website targets international meeting planners and helps connect them with Irish business events suppliers via a dedicated listing section, enabling suppliers to showcase their business events product.  

Accommodation providers and venues that are existing members of Ireland’s five Convention Bureaux (Dublin, Cork, Kerry, The Shannon Region and Galway) are automatically eligible for a listing on the Meet in Ireland website. Suppliers located outside of Ireland’s business events hubs must adhere to the below essential criteria.

Selection criteria:

• Accommodation providers must be Fáilte Ireland approved – a minimum 3 star or Welcome Standard approval is required.
• Business events venues must meet the following definition – physical spaces designed and provided for the purpose of meetings, incentives, conferences, gala banquets, exhibitions, or events. 
• Accommodation providers must provide evidence of hosting a minimum of 3 international (overseas) business events with over 50 international participants per event in the last 12 months. Venues must provide evidence of same with a minimum of 200 international participants per event. A testimonial from each client is required.
• Applicants must demonstrate investment in the international business events market by providing details of all international sales and marketing activity and budget, by market, targeting the business events segment over the three-year period from 2017 to 2019. Details on spend for participation fees, representation fees and travel, a list of platforms and sales missions by country and any details around partnerships, must also be shared.
• New premises must show evidence of investment in the international business events market over a two-year period from 2022 to 2023, as detailed in point 4 above, and/or evidence of 3 future business events bookings on the scale indicated in point 3 above.
