The Meet in Ireland team has just returned from a whirlwind few days exhibiting at IMEX Frankfurt. The three-day event, which took place from 31st May to 2nd June at Messe Frankfurt, is the largest trade show in Europe for the meetings and events industry, and one of the largest worldwide exhibitions.

We were joined by 34 of our trade partners who helped us showcase Ireland as a world-class business events destination to over 5,100 global event planners and buyers. This was not only the largest gathering of the global meetings industry since 2019, but also the 20th anniversary of IMEX Frankfurt, making it an extra special occasion.

During our time there, we hosted several exciting presentations and appointments at stand F460, giving buyers the opportunity to learn why Ireland is the ideal setting for business events. As a token of Irish craft and hospitality, visitors to our stand were gifted iconic crystal bowls from Waterford Crystal which were engraved by hand.

As a leading destination for corporate events, sustainability is an important aspect of everything we do, and we’re always on the search for ways to reduce our impact on the environment. This year, we introduced a handful of changes at the Meet in Ireland stand, including going paperless which meant no notebooks, only laptops. In addition to this, we supplied compostable coffee cups and recycled pens for all our guests and visitors, while celebrity chef Andrew Rudd prepared a sustainable food presentation and tasting to further demonstrate Ireland's green credentials.

But the entertainment didn't stop there. We were delighted to host our ‘Irish house party’ at Waxy’s Irish Pub, giving meeting and event professionals the unique opportunity to experience traditional Irish music, food and culture abroad.
