Four of Ireland’s business events regions have made their mark in the Global Destinations Sustainability (GDS) Index’s 2023 rankings. Announced on 4th October at the GDS Forum in Spain, Kerry, Cork, Clare and Galway have secured spots within this year’s Top 40 global rankings.
Kerry takes the lead among Irish destinations, securing the 19th spot, closely followed by Cork in 26th place. Clare and Galway aren’t far behind, coming in at 38th and 39th respectively. They stand alongside other notable cities like Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Glasgow.
The GDS Index, now in its eighth year, is a globally recognised authority on sustainability benchmarking. The programme ranks cities and destinations around the world based on their commitment to sustainability.
These results continue to highlight Ireland’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, making it an increasingly attractive option for eco-conscious business tourists.
