Ireland has made significant strides in the recent International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) rankings, positioning us a premier destination for conferences. Ireland rose to the 18th position globally, a remarkable increase of 14 places since 2019.
The ICCA ranking is a global community and knowledge base for the international association meetings industry and their rankings are vital to furthering understanding within the business tourism industry.
Four of Ireland’s Business Events Hubs also saw significant increases in their rankings. Cork showed the biggest jump, surging 157 places to secure the 90th spot worldwide. Galway had a similarly impressive rise, moving up 134 places to sit at 173. Limerick rose almost 50 places, laying the groundwork for further progress in future rankings. Dublin, Ireland’s capital city, achieved the highest ranking among the four hubs, just narrowly missing a top 10 spot by securing the 11th place globally.
The current rankings, while being a cause of great celebration, can also provide a solid foundation for further improvements in the conferences space across Ireland.
