In 2015, the United Nations (UN) established the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, comprising 17 goals. As a UN Member State, Ireland actively contributes to these goals, with the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan, designating 26 organisations as SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Champions for 2023-2024.

Meet in Ireland is the business events brand of Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, which was one of the organisations chosen as a champion.

As such, Fáilte Ireland is focused on promoting sustainable practices in the tourism sector, a commitment that is also shared by Meet in Ireland. Specifically, we're dedicated to helping conference organisers adopt sustainable practices, promote social responsibility and assess the impact of their events through our Impact and Legacy programme.
