Situated in 170 acres of beautiful countryside, the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum located less than 10 miles outside the city centre, is not just an incredible venue but an amazing 'experience' for your delegates. We have so much more than just amazing collections we offer a rich interactive cultural experience for an audience that are generally time poor but keen to experience the local culture during their visit. The Museum comprises the Transport Museum (indoor) and the open air Folk Museum as well as the beautiful Edwardian Cultra Manor.
The Irish Railway Gallery in the Transport Museum houses one of the finest rail collections in Europe. The collection tells the story of over 150 years of railway history in Ireland and is a unique setting for conferences, gala dinners and awards ceremonies surrounded by magnificent steam locomotives, passenger carriages and goods wagons. This spectacular venue can accommodate from up to 300 guests and can be accessed by Steam train from Central Station in Belfast city centre. The Folk Museum shows life in early 1900's Ulster. It is comprised of a small town, Ballycultra and a rural area with a working farm - Discovery Farm. The Folk Museum is so quaint and atmospheric that everyone falls in love with it and the amazing costumed visitor guides that bring it to life. You can follow trails where you help the locals demonstrating traditional crafts in cottages, schools, shops and farm dwellings. This is very special and memorable.
