Thanks to Ireland’s compact size, no location is out of bounds when it comes to an ambitious itinerary — meaning it’s the perfect choice for meeting planners looking for something completely different.
For this no-holds-barred experience in Ireland, the client knew they wanted to host both their meetings in Ireland, but in two different cities; one in the capital of Dublin and the other in the second largest city, Cork. With no product knowledge of the country themselves, they required a dependable local DMC who would guide them along the way and chose Dublin-based Hotel Solutions DMC to meet this need.
The itinerary
In addition to facilitating meetings and a product launch at a pharmaceutical company in Cork, Hotel Solutions DMC was also tasked with organising an impressive itinerary that showcased the highlights of both Dublin and Cork, 159 kilometers apart. Providing a cultural experience of Ireland stretched across two cities, which sit at differing ends of the country, is no mean feat, but the DMC succeeded in delivering the programme to the highest standard, all within a brief four days.
Never shy of a challenge, Hotel Solutions DMC created a detailed plan to facilitate every requirement and designed a packed programme of events, supporting all stages of planning with a number of conference calls.
Cork
Beginning their journey in Cork, the group checked into the Clayton Silver Springs Hotel. Ireland is famed for its welcoming nature and this hotel was no different, extending a traditional “Cead Mile Fáilte” (100,000 welcomes) to the group upon arrival.
Ireland is passionate about food so a key MICE priority is offering world-class but authentically Irish dining experiences. The group’s first port of call after their factory visit was for a hearty lunch at Bunnyconnellan, a historic family-run restaurant perched atop the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Dublin
After lunch the group was driven to Dublin, a journey of less than three hours. They checked in at the Radisson Royal Golden Lane in Dublin’s city centre, which provided the ideal base to explore Ireland’s charming, cobbled capital city. Thanks to the hotel’s central location, the group could walk to the dinner venue, Bang Restaurant, an experience that added a more intimate, casual note to the evening — as well as keeping their carbon footprint to a minimum.
The itinerary concluded with a trip to the , a traditional Irish pub nestled in the foothills of the Dublin mountains. Run by musicians, live music and dancing are never far off, which provided the client with many memories to take away from their few days in Ireland.
