Anantara’s first urban hotel in Europe is making its début in Ireland by rebranding The Marker Hotel in Dublin in 2020. Significant investment in the hotel is planned over the next twelve months.
The Marker, which will remain as part of the Leading Hotels of the World, is considered one of the capital’s most modern and luxurious buildings, and is the only five-star hotel in the area. It is a perfect cultural and business epicentre for travellers keen on experiencing Ireland’s world-renowned hospitality.
Ideal for MICE events, the hotel has 187 contemporary guest rooms over six floors (166 deluxe rooms, 18 executive rooms and three suites) plus eight state-of-the-art event and meeting facilities. As well as offering services such as their award-winning spa and a rooftop terrace with stunning panoramic views, guests can also eat at La Brasserie, which was recently named Best Hotel Restaurant in Dublin by the Restaurant Association of Ireland (RAI).
Anantara’s urban hotel is in the heart of Dublin’s Docklands, on the doorstep of some of the capital’s best-loved venues as well as world-class MICE facilities, such as the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre — not to mention stunning views overlooking the water.
This vibrant area — known as the Silicon Docks — has quickly become one of the most attractive and dynamic areas of the Irish capital for living, working and socialising. This is in part due to the high concentration of multinational tech companies, like Google, Facebook, Twitter and Airbnb in the area, as well as excellent conference facilities and buzzing bars and restaurants.
Guests are also only a short walk away from many of the city’s best activities, including boat rides along the river, watching Gaelic games at the legendary Croke Park or a spot of shopping on Grafton Street.
Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is a luxury hospitality brand for modern travellers, providing wholehearted hospitality in the world’s most exciting destinations. Their collection of distinctive and thoughtfully designed hotels are aimed to curate personal travel experiences. Anantara has 35 stunning locations which are spread across Asia and the Middle East to North-West Europe. The Dublin hotel will be the third Anantara in Europe, joining Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort in Portugal and the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace in Marbella, Spain.
“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our luxury Anantara brand into northwest Europe in the fair city of Dublin. The Marker Hotel is already known as one of the city’s leading hotels and bringing the reputation and luxury touch points of Anantara to the property will further elevate the guest experience,” commented Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, parent company of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.
