Dublin and Galway

Rhythm and magic: from trad music to team adventures

Delegates laugh as they take part in a bodhrán (traditional Irish Drum) lesson
There’s nowhere quite like Ireland, in both topography and atmosphere. Winding city streets and rural rugged landscapes lend themselves perfectly to a spirit of adventure — the key quality of this medium budget itinerary. It’s not all city biking and corralling sheep though; cosy pubs, Poitín and authentic Irish cuisine will also be on the agenda — not to mention a once-in-a-lifetime visit to the Aran Islands.

Day One

Biking the city and embracing Ireland’s music scene

Dublin's GPO building

There’s no better way to get to know a city than on two wheels. This exciting itinerary will start with a Lazy Bike Tour, on which the group will pedal their electric cruisers through Dublin on a two-hour tour while taking in world-famous attractions. There will also be storytelling and photography stops along the way.

Following a break to refuel, guests will have the chance to walk in the footsteps of music legends at the legendary Windmill Lane Recording Studios. Here they’ll learn about the history of the studios, tricks of the trade and even record their favourite song in the same studios in which U2, the Rolling Stones and David Bowie laid down some hits.

The group will check in to a lavish five star hotel before partaking in a hearty welcome feast; with exclusive entertainment to break the ice, it’s the perfect end to a packed first day.

Day Two

Treasure, trad and authentic Irish coffee

A group learn to play traditional Irish music on the Bodhran.
Day Two is dedicated to the spirit of competition. Teams battle for glory on a thrilling treasure hunt through Dublin City centre, complete with tasks and challenges, thanks to CP Adventure.

A musical afternoon will follow, at which guests can embrace Irish culture with a bespoke bodhrán workshop, organised by leading teambuilding activity provider Orangeworks (bodhráns are Irish drums, made with stretched animal skin over a round wooden frame). It doesn’t get more authentic than learning a traditional instrument in the heart of Dublin.

After a team dinner at the hotel, the day will conclude in style with a nightcap. Guests will be taught how to make their own Irish coffee in a private lesson — a simple recipe they can take home to family and friends to remind them of their time in Ireland.

Day Three

Culinary delights and culture in Galway

Five delegates walk past pubs and small shops along the narrow streets in Galway

Only a 2.5 hour journey away by private transfer (organised by one of our Irish DMC partners) lies Galway, Ireland’s cultural centre in the west of Ireland. On arrival the group will meet friendly locals while getting a taste for Irish food culture; sampling fresh produce on a delectable food trail through Ireland’s most colourful city.

With tastebuds satisfied, the group will have the chance to soak up the hustle and bustle of Shop Street in the middle of the city centre — numerous quaint shops, traditional pubs and musical buskers will provide a sense of the rich tapestry of life Galway offers.

Following this authentically Irish day, the group will retire to a four star hotel in Galway’s city centre to enjoy céad míle fáilte (the one hundred thousand welcomes the Irish are famous for) followed by a private dinner together. Browse Ireland's impressive accommodation sector and hotel facilities in our listing section.

Day 4

Discovering rural Ireland by car and boat

A dinner cruise on Lough Corrib
Cultural immersion is the flavour of Day Four, as the group travels into the scenic landscape of a more rural Ireland. They’ll visit the charming town of Connemara, known for its Irish culture and language. A traditional sheepdog experience will be enjoyed here, followed by pub visits with local dancers and trad musicians.

Guests will take part in a magical dining experience that evening on board the fabulous Corrib Princess luxury boat, where a delicious dinner will be served as they take in the idyllic Corrib views — an ideal photo opportunity. The Corrib Princess also serves Irish Coffee as well as a large selection of wines and local craft beers as guests sail along the peaceful river, home to courting swans, hunting herons and jumping salmon.

Day 5

Ancient Ireland alongside Michelin-starred dining

Two women cycling the winding roads on the Aran Islands

The group’s uniquely Irish experience continues with an adventure on the breath-taking Aran Islands off the coast of Galway. Travelling by boat or airplane, guests will take in picturesque views of the rugged coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way, before arriving on the island to explore Celtic churches and ancient sites.

On arrival back in Galway, the group will enjoy a tipple at the the Micil Poitín Distillery. A sixth Generation Poitín Distiller, Pádraic Ó Grillais will regale guests with wonderful stories as they sample sweet Poitín and toast to good health.

For their final evening in Ireland, the group can share highlights from this once-in-a-lifetime trip while dining at one of Galway’s finest Michelin-starred restaurants — just a sample of one of the many unique experiences that await MICE groups in Ireland.

Saying goodbye to the Emerald Isle

Convenient transfers will be organised to Shannon or Dublin Airport where the group will part ways, with a host of wonderful memories to take back home with them.
